I'm done with the ADA!

This is not the ADA I knew and appreciated. Let me first clarify, I have never been a member of ADA, but I participated at a few of their banquets and events, and supported their mission. I remember the ADA who stepped up and helped at the AZ HUNTERS WHO CARE trash cleanups. It was guys like Stanley, and Amanda who came down and brought ADA's youth trailer to help out with cooking lunch for 300+ volunteers who used to show up. Man I really thought, this ADA is a great organization, and the people who are the organization are good people.

ADA used to represent all deer hunters in AZ, wether you were a member or not. It was NOT a good ole boys club, or a who's who of AZ hunting, it was simply a bunch of guys who wanted to improve deer hunting in AZ. It was not something you did, so you could list it on your resume, but something you did, because you cared about hunting and other hunters.

But times change and so do the people involved, and in this case it is not for the better. I am sure there are some of those old members who just want to improve deer hunting in AZ, but the new tome of the ADA is disheartening. You have guys like PBJ, SMACK, and WARBIRD who on here representing ADA, and instead of listening to the hunters of the state, they are too busy covering the a$$es and attacking the average hunter. The ADA could have easily come out of this situation as the leader in hunting organizations after the AZSFW fiasco. They could have easily said, we have not decided where we stand, and want to hear from our members and the hunting population of AZ on this issue. I think the hunting community would have recognized this as a positive thing, and had patience with the organization. But when you come out and don't want to listen to the hunters who made it possible for their organization to survive, you have missed a golden opportunity to help the hunting community to get thru this hard time.

I am a simple man, and don't ask for much, except being honest. And at this point I am so frustrated, I have lost all faith in the ADA and a few other orgs who have dropped the ball. The silence from the ADA in the form of a official statement has been the downfall of a once great organization.

Goodbye...

I've been following this from the begining and this statement is nothing but b.s. and far from the truth. The ADA has set aside a time and date for everyone to attend but all I'm hearing is its too far of a drive. What does everyone think these guys live 10 minutes away from their meetings? And how many times a month do you think they make the long drive to these meetings? Answer me this, why is it with all the organizations combined that its the same 500 faces year in and year out that do the banquets, work projects, youth camps, workshops, ect.

These people work hard for the wildlife in the state of Arizona and there never seems to be new people willing to help out. Every hunter should do their part if not atleast be a member and pay your dues to do their part with whatever hunting organzation that one chooses. I personaly know the people on the ADA board and half the stuff that people are saying about them is not true, everyone has been givin the oppertuiny to attend a public meeting on the 21st so take advantage of it so every one can know the facts and if people want to use the excuse that its too far of a drive thats pretty lame of an excuse. There is a lot of people that put their heart, soul, blood, tears, and many hours of comute to attend these meetings and projects and for some one to make a statement like this is just off the wall you need to re-exam your post.

So Bryan Waitman,

Can you tell us all, does the ADA still support the AZSFW and their lobbyist? I think it would be helpful to know this before the meeting??

I find it interesting that there are some who are "demanding" a position of the ADA.Lance has specified that he has never been a member...and yet he "demands" a position. Really? The process that any organization should follow is to carefully review their policies as well as their support on a continuing basis. I have invited folks to attend our meeting, but instead it appears that we (ADA) have to state our position first and then you "Might" come to our meeting. For the record, the ADA will not be pulling out of the AZSFWC. That group had no dog in the HB2072 fight and it would not be wise to remove ourselves from that group. There are 13 other groups that have not pulled out and some are waiting to hear more before a determination is made. As far as the AZSFW is concerned, that group has done what I consider to be some good solid work on behalf of sportsmen over the years. Your opinion may be different... that is your right. When the board has had an opportunity to listen to all the people who want to speak, and heard the response from the AZSFW, then and only then should we as a board make a decision. The tactics that have been utilized from the select group on the CWT have been more bullying than anything else. Most of the readers have no idea what work the ADA does. I am responding at a request from Amanda regarding the "demands". Show up on Tuesday. make a point and then see where the ADA goes from there. JK

Really? Look like a pretty big dog ($6187) to me. Board of Directors on the AZSFWC:

President/Chairman - Jim Unmacht

Secretary/Treasurer - Alan Hamberlin

Director - Eddy Corona

Director - Joe Del Re

Director - Floyd Green

Director - Charlie Kelly

Director - John Koleszar

Director - Jerry Nelson

Director - Mark Nuessle

Director - Art Pearce

Director - Brian Pinney

Director - Shane Stewart

Director - Gary Stinson

Director - Robert Thomas

The AZ Secretary of State keeps records on all political contributions. This is from the Jerry Weiers 2012 political committee. The same Jerry Weiers who proposed HB2072. These contributions totalling over $6000 were all made on December 16, 2011. 3 weeks before this emergency bill was created/made public. Coincidence? Maybe some of these names look familiar?

Be careful guys or the smackattack will scare you like he did me. You can't say anything that is true or contrary to the sfw doctrine. And if they Ada would make just one statement we could all quit asking the question about where they stand. But for now I think the ada is salvageable if they will just do one thing to start. What I can see happening is having several sparsely populated groups controlled by a few rich guys trying hard to dictate azgfd policy and the rest of us trying hard to start something to represent everyone else. It's easy to see who was in on the tag grab and see what their motives were. If the ada, or any group, wants to survive they need to purge those guys and get serious about getting people involved, personally and monetarily. And the good guys need to quit fighting with each other. There are a lotta good folks in this state. It shouldn't be too hard if folks can put aside personalities and work toward a common and good goal. Lark.

“It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, who keep on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men”-SAMUEL ADAMS, 1776

The orgs didn't stop 2072, irate individuals that learned of it on sites like this... if we'd all waited a month and a half, it'd already be law.

I love how those that try to 'open' people's minds with details and reality... are told to 'shut' up by those afraid of the truth.

PBJ, it is called being upfront and honest... you would have been wise to also be upfront and honest about your $100 payoff to Weiers... This is why the faith in the ADA is gone, because of people like you.

What krp said is true. Angry individuals stopped the tag grab. For the time being. The sfw and it's puppeteers ain't done and folks need to grasp that. Personally krp, I think you should go the ada mtg and state your case. Don't let pbj win without at least blackIn' his eye. I read all you write and can agree with 99 percent of it. But I disagree with anyone who attacks you on substance and disagree with you or anyone else wanting to become disassociated over stupid words from stupid people. Lark.

I'll tell ya what, if I get at least 20 pledges for 10 bucks cash each, to be put in an envelope I bring, that I will reveal and give to the recipient at the end... I'll go.

This will be my last post til Tuesday next week. Gee Lance, I assume from your post that you have never given a contribution to a political candidate...That is the reason for the record. A payoff??? Fairly insulting to anyone who is aware of how campaign contributions work. I have donated to several different candidates, and each year there has been cause to do so. I respect Weiers and all he has done for wildlife in AZ. So I made a contribution to his campaign for the future... Big deal. I was not aware that I was required to post everything I have ever done in my whole life to appease the crowd that only keyboards and is not involved in the process of attempting to work on wildlife. According to the Secretary of State, your political contributions are as follows. Please correct me if I am wrong but the only candidate your have ever contributed to since the reporting year 2000 was Jerry Weiers. I hate to say it but your integrity is in question...

JERRY WEIERS 2012 12/16/2011 $100 2012 January 31st Report

* Arizona Sportsmen for Wildlife Political Action Committee 02/26/2011 $10 2012 Pre-Recall Election Report

* Arizona Sportsmen for Wildlife Political Action Committee 03/20/2011 $10 2012 Pre-Recall Election Report

* Arizona Sportsmen for Wildlife Political Action Committee 03/21/2009 $10 2010 January 31st Report

* Arizona Sportsmen for Wildlife Political Action Committee 06/27/2009 $10 2010 January 31st Report

* JERRY WEIERS 2012 11/13/2007 $100 2008 January 31st Report

Again this all researchable at the AZ Secretary of State website http://www.azsos.gov/cfs/ContributorSummarySearch.aspx (on the right hand side, enter any of the names mentioned above for a history of their political contributions)
