Can't wait to get out duck hunting this season. Have been waiting until it gets colder to push them down. Has anyone gotten out and seen much yet?

I've been waiting too. Nights are getting cooler. I'm guessing its a bit warm yet to push them down south but with this big cold front that's supposed to be coming I hope it's soon. Haven't seen the usual flights at the house (we have water here they use.) I'm hoping for some geese this year since they've eluded the steel I throw at them every other year.

I kayaked the verde from camp verde to horseshoe and saw less than 20 ducks in 4 days. They aren't here yet. It's still too warm.

Been out twice, just been seeing local birds. A buddy of mine is trying to get me into duck hunting, no birds down yet

Yep usually it's locals this time of the year. It takes awhile to get down here. The teals usually are one of the first to make it if I remember correctly, but it's been awhile.

My son has been out and he confirmed locals.

My dad and I took my 3 year old out for a morning of pond jumping. We ended up with 5 total; 2 pintail drakes, 1 pin tail hen, 1 green wing teal hen and 1 mallard hen.

I hunted last week only saw 11 birds passing by and I missed 3 of them. Just as mentioned above with that arctic cold blast up north the birds should be on the way.

But my Labrador always has a good time whether I knock em down or not.

Ducks are starting to move here in UT. Pretty cold storm right now, hoping a bunch follow me back to AZ tonight.
