Bugles in July

Recommended Posts

(Never posted a vid so not sure if this will work)

This is from the evening of 7/8/15. Cows were very vocal and a couple bulls bugling to my surprise. Video is for audio only (iPhone), no elk to see just to hear. Might have to turn it up a bit.

Bulls and cows communicate year round. That's all it is though. Not a sign of an "early rut" or anything of that matter

Supreme Court said its discrimination for Bulls to be able to bugle and not cows

Not kidding. They make a high pitched sound like a young bull. Not as long winded as a bull, but in the early spring and summer they most definitely bugle....

The cows were definately vocal. I got a quick glimpse of the bull trotting away at 80 yards the next morn and he was a nice 6 pt. The next night we watched a different group of 80 cows/calves feed into a meadow and play around.
