Water damaged i-phone (need help)

Recommended Posts

Was it covered under Applecare? If so there's a chance they'll replace it.

Let us know how the rice worked- it usually works pretty well. If it doesn't power on, it might be a loss. A used 4S goes for 100 now a days. (In good condition).

I think my kid is selling his 4S Verizion Iphone.. I can check?

Apple has a built in program that put up the apple sign when wet. You have to get a court order for them to open it up again.

My phone is dumb and flips, but it says its water proof. Havn't soaked it in the last 10 years or so. Maybe I'll try it and get one of the smart phones if it doesn't work anymore. ;)

He declined the insurance and when I found out about it I purchased insurance from square trade. It was $100 and $75 deductible per phone replacement. Unfortunately, I signed up 36 days after purchase and they have a clause stated you must purchase warranty within 30 days of original purchase so the claim was denied.

I spoke with a couple repair shops and essentially have a paper weight at this time. Both told me rice is no good due to the minerals left behind that throw the device off.
