Javelina carrying a rabbit?

Use the same precautions as eating bear. Cook to 160 degrees.

And freeze the meat for a month before you cook it.

I'm really curious where all in the state they are supposed to be. Never heard of or seen any along the San Pedro.  I know someone who killed a couple in the bootheel of NM not far from Rodeo.  He says he knows there are some near Douglas. Seems pretty easy to believe. I'm planning on taking a pass on javelina this year and taking that time to go try to find some of these hogs in NM.

I would have to agree that those are feral pigs. I'm no expert, so shoot one and get some closer pics.

Is that pot growing on the left?

That's a big negative on the pot plant.

It looks like a sow (actual pig) carrying a piglet to me - do they do that? Could be a Javi, but I agree with it appearing to have teets and looking more pig-like.

I adjusted some levels and it looks like no teats, maybe the shadows of the trees? But I might be trippin' .. 839351976_NOTITS.thumb.png.c5ada242366802c2d0ba699f2f0a8177.png
