i can't believe not one koolaid drinker has the wayvos to post on this thread. this is some real important stuff. i mean important to point of affecting generations. maybe the most important thing going on right now, in the whole world. i know they called off global warming for 10 years, just last week, and it's snowin' again in the mountains, all over the place, but crap, can't we have some re-butt-all on this? maybe the rumors about liberal media bias apply to liberal thinkers (i.e. wrong thinkers) in general? dangit. now the 4 day weekend is upon us and i gotta go have some fun outside. well, everbuddy have a good holiday and remember, if you must drink, don't drink koolaid. I love Kool-Aid  And I am a firm believer in Global warming. I remember back in the early 1970's when my Dad and I first started hunting deer in southern Arizona after moving here. We used to sleep in the back of the truck or on the ground with a tarp, and woke up many mornings covered in frost. When is the last time you have seen frost in the desert in late October or early November?

The list of scientists includes 9,021 Ph.D.s, 6,961 at the master's level, 2,240 medical doctors and 12,850 carrying a bachelor of science or equivalent academic degree.

These people are not climatologists and probably not scientists. This is a poll, a vote. You cannot vote on scientific facts. You need something called experiments. Then the experiments are reviewed and replicated by other scientists. This is called peer review. That is how science works. This means you don't have medical doctor reviewing climate experiments, You have climate scientist review climate science. How could you believe this cock-a-maammy BS put out by oil companies.

Koolaid drinker with no wayvos please, the reason I don't reply is It is hard to argue with retarded thinking :P Where do you find this s---. it amazes me that in one post you claim that energy companies have a conspiracy to drive up gas prices(agree with you on that one), then in the next post, believe that energy companies would not conspire to deny global warming. You are consistently inconsistent. Plus this 10 year take a break from global warming study was done by three Germans. Makes me wonder if those people that call you a nazi may be right. Where are you reading all this German misinformation. In the Heil Hitler daily? If you can find a study-that is in a reputable scientific journal -that is peer reviewed(very boring reading) -that has data that refutes global warming; I will read it with an open mind. Find just one! Every link that has been put up as "proof" that global warming don't exist are a joke that are probably funded by oil companies. If you want to see what a reputable sight looks like go here.

PS Lark I really don't think you are a nazi, I was just remembering something you said the last time I called you global cooling freaks retards. Plus I thought The Heil Hitler Daily was quite funny. Anyway I know you have much thicker skin then all the other sensitive CW members. Please read the sights I listed. There is some info that could help your misinformed argument.

At least oil companies are providing a product we all need and use. The people that want to shove the GW crap down your throat just want your money and they give you nothing back. Their answer to everything is to raise taxes and implement "fees".

I'm not to sure about all the screaming back and forth about Global Warming effecting our weather pattern but I do know for sure it has affected our gravity pull on earth. Some of you youngsters haven't been around long enough to realize what global warming has done to our gravity as in lbs of pull. From the beginning of time when the first apple fell from the tree man realized there was this thing called gravity. If that same apple were to fall from a tree today it would definately put a larger indentation in the ground. Do I have scientific proof of this? You bet I do! When I die I have left my body, through the donor list, for scientist to study this global warming affect on gravity. 30 yrs ago I weighed 155lb @ 5'5" and now 220lb. I once could run up any mountain here in Az but the pull of gravity has affected that task to a walk at its best, with many breaks in between. A 75lb. backpack 30 yrs ago would weigh 150lb. today. Just how bad has it gotten? :o I know a fishing buddy who shows an old picture of a 5lb. bass he caught and that same bass has doubled in weight over 20 years. :( I really believe it has something to do with the removing of the trees from the rain forest. Don't be fooled by this weather, its the gravity pull that will put you 6 ft under someday. :P

One thing I noticed a while back is that all my ancestors, but one, are dead. Only my Mom is left, and she is in and out of Hospice. I'm in my 50's, so I probably have about 25 years left myself.

We're all gonna die, it's just a matter of when. And what's 70 or 80 years any way? Nothin! compared to the eons this earth has been around. So what's the big deal if the earth is warming or cooling; if man is causing it or not?

We ain't gonna be around to see it.

I see what Lark's point is; he is also saying "so what?" He just don't like the chicken littles in the world profiting from it.

I'll tell you who is the most upset about the warming of the globe; it's the godless people. These folks tend to be the koolaid drinkers. They believe in a humanistic utopia where humans figure out all of the problems of the world and allow humanity to continue forever, and ever and ever (even though they will not be around to see it). They believe in a one-world goverment. Remember John Lennon's "Imagine"? They heard that song and believed it! Humanists believe in freedom of a womans choice (to kill their own offspring), and the doing away of old people when they are a burden to society (Kavorkian). They believe we have evolved enough to streamline the problems of humanity and the needed resources to keep human kind going forever by our own power. (by the way, 42 million babies have been aborted in this country; more deaths than all the American wars combined)

They're wrong.

We aren't evolving. We have been the same since the beginning. anybody looked at human history lately? Ain't pretty is it? Kind of a lot of wars ain't there? That's who we are folks. That's what humanity is, and what humanity does. The Bible is full of wars and bloodshed, and after Biblical times it only continued and even got worse; Napolian, Rome, WWI, WWII, and on and on. Guess what... we ain't evolving. That's only what the liberal, progressive, demasculinized, socialistic, 'imaginers' want everyone to believe.

If we can do it ourselves, then we don't need God.

I read the book. It doesn't end in a humanistic utopia where the human race figures it out and goes on and on. Look around. Does it look like we're getting it figured out? Does it look like we can go on and on and on...?

It ends with an all powerful God stopping humainty from destroying itself, and then creating "a new heaven and a new earth".

Come on thinkers, pull your head out. Take a good, hard, long look. What makes sense? Who you gonna believe, John Lennon? Al Gore? or the Holy Bible?

Global warming? So what!

"The fields are ripe with harvest."

Mike

This is a poll, a vote. You cannot vote on scientific facts.

actually it's not a poll or a vote. it's a petition for government action against the kyoto treaty. and it's also a rebuttal to the argument that we are to accept the catastrophic global warming threat because there is a scientific consensus. obviously there is not a consensus. my opinion is that there is sound evidence that the climate is changing. and that's where it stops.

needless to say, i think legitimate efforts to use less of everything are wise, at least until we can develop alternative energy sources. and surging energy costs may be the impetus the market needs for innovation. and i wish this issue hadn't become politicized, but it has, and inasmuch as a political group attempts to use it to impact my life, i take issue with it. markets will work themselves out, generally, if governments don't meddle. so will the earth, if governments don't meddle. we shouldn't be so arrogant to think that we are it, the culmination, and that there is nothing in evolution beyond us.... or if you believe in god, as I do, that this isn't all some part of the plan.

well, there ya go. now the global warmin' groupies are callin' this an attempt to legislate the weather, when it aint', and when that's what gore and the rest o' the koolaid kids are trying to do. this is 31,000 degreed scientists. folks who have real and credible educations in sciences that ar directly linked to "global" warming. not "ecologists". and if you koolaid kids would read this instead of just shoving it aside, you'd see that they agree that the earth is in a warming state. nothing like gore and his pals want you to believe, but it has warmed up a bit. what they are saying is that it is not human caused, but rather, nature at work. do you koolaid drinkers even know what the kyoto accord was? here it is in a nutshell. the U.S., great britain, germany, france and a few other countries have to tax theirselves to death to drop emissions so that china, india, all of of africa, mexico, pakistan, etc. can keep pumping smoke, sewage, trash, etc. into the environment. and we also had to give the backward polluter countries a buncha money to help em get better. the U.S's pollution compared to china or india is like comparing a toy electric car to a coal fired power plant with no emission protection. nobody is cleaner than us, but everyone wants us to fix it. even when 31,000 scientists say it ain't broke. i watched a deal this weekend about the clovis people and there were several opinions about how they got here and where they went, but the one thing that really hit me was that during the last ice age, the polar caps came down the west coast to about oregon/northern california, spread across the country through montans and northern wyoming, completely covered the great lakes and then drooped down the east coast to about new york, connnecticut, that area. AND THEY WERE OVER 16,000 FEET THICK!!!!!!!!! 16,000 feet kids. none of our big mountains stuck through the ice. and this was about 13,000 years ago. an eye blink in the history of earth. sounds to me like the planet has been warming a little for quite awhile. they also said there had been at least 20 distinct ice ages. pretty interesting stuff. the polar caps might be melting, but nothin' like they have in the past. not even close. Lark.

Wouldn't it be cool to someday know just how everything was formed and changed over the eons of earth time? Instead of having to wade through the mud bogs of scientific theory?

I was watching a show on PBS, a while back, about a paleontologist working in the Agobe (sp?) Desert. He had found an area that was rich in fossilized bones. Mostly of dinosaurs and other reptiles from a certain period in the mapped-out evolution of the earth. Funny thing was, at that site, there were also mammal bones. These were not supposed to be there. So, since the mammal bones didn't fit the evolutionary map, this scientist used a term for it, and I can't remember what that term was, but it was something like the word anomale (sp?), meaning it didn't make any sense, and they would just have to figgure it out later. Facinating how when the evidence doesn't fit the precious theory, it is simply ignored.

I have an scientist friend, that I had arranged a meeting with, to discuss the possibility of doing some illustrations for him. He said he had a need for some drawings that would visually communicate his own theory of how the Grand Canyon was formed. I started to tell him that I had seen a theory explained on a TV program where it was believed that the area of the G.C. was an ancient sea bed and that the geology under the sea gave way, kinda like a sink hole, and it caved in, and caved in, and also was helped with the river running through it.

He suddenly became visibly upset and blurted out that this theory sounded alot like a CREATIONIST idea. And that they totally ignore the fossils, WHAT ABOUT THE FOSSILS?!!! I reassured him that it was a secular show I had watched, and that it kinda made sense to me. He became so frustrated, within a matter of a couple of minutes, that he left my house upset, and I have not heard from him since! (you may find this hard to believe, but I never said one word about God to him.)

Now check me if I'm wrong; isn't the top layer of rock at the G.C. limestone? Isn't limestone formed at the bottom of a sea?

Guess that didn't fit his theory. Ignore button. Actually, panic button. Later I realized my wife had hung a religious Christmas decoration on my studio wall - maybe that's what scared him? Pretty bizarre behavior for an educated person. Someone had their head burried in the sand, and it wasn't the Christian.

Anyway, I have a lot of questions for God, because I want to know what really happened from the time the earth was formed until now.

Mike

we haven't been keeping records long enough to even know what normal and what not. 100 years is the blink of an eye when you talk about weather. this is just a knee jerk reaction from the greenies and kool aid drinkers.

Hope you guys don't think less of me for it. Guess I'm just naive, but I really fell for all the global warming propaganda. I fell for it so hard, that I went out and bought one of those "green" vehicles that are supposed to save the world.
