Deep Sea Fishing Out of San Diego

Recommended Posts

Our trip was almost a bust. Bad winds big seas. And couldn’t find fish. We didn’t have anything except a couple of dodos on the troll until the last hour finally found some fish. It only takes one good stop to make the trip.

Im heading towards end of next week, hope it turns around.  Looks like a ton of dodos being landed on day to 1.5 days, with some smattering of tuna.

Good Luck. Lots of midgets but they are the fastest growing fish that swims.

Getting reports on private and 6 packs are getting into decent grade YFT and larger dorado.

Some of the larger boats are still doing rock fishing, that would drive me nuts.  I go to the Channel Islands for rock fishing.

Which port is best to fish from to get a White Sea bass

All depends on where the bite is.  SCI, Catalina, Channel Islands.  Usually start about March, but more so April to June.

I have been more around the Channel Islands out of Oxnard/ Ventura marinas.

Did the relentless 5 years in a row for 1.5days. Mikey’s a good capt. and always manages to find some action.. even if it’s the end of the last day! Nice haul!!

Got back from overnight 6 pack, got more dorado off open water than kelp.

Was a morning bite, afternoon had a temp break with water turning grey. Nothing on kelp or afternoon troll.
