Nightforce or leupold

Hello. Looking at getting a nightforce nx8 or leupold vx6, just wanting opinions on which is a better hunting scope, better glass?

NF will track better and hold zero. Leo will be clearer glass

I think the glass is comparable but night force is tougher and will track better

I did not like the NX8 and it looks like sales have really gone down on that model. One reason is lack of clarity. Anytime you go more than 5 times magnification you sacrifice image quality. The NX8 at 8 times does just that. The NXS 5.5X22X50 is a great comprise with great tracking, great light, and image quality. Leupold is not going to last as long on the tracking side. Of course that all depends on recoil. Any brand will eventually fail as repetitive recoil impact takes it's toll. I know of few competitors using Leupold. All I see is Nightforce. Tracking is why. Another option to consider is weight. The tougher a scope is the more weight you will have.

Does nf still offer the NSX? It maxed at 22x

I have never had any tracking issues with any of my v3, 5 ,or 6s . I also have NF scopes they are also very good. Luepold are definitely clearer, NF are beefy and heavier. 

I prefer leupold, but you can't go wrong on either.

The VX6 will track just fine, they're very good scopes. The NX 8 has a crappy eyebox. Resolution is not great either. It is not an ATAC-R.

Little more $$ you can get a Zeiss LRP S3 and not look back.

What kind of issues are you guys having with the tracking on the leupolds. Either it tracks or it doesn't? Is leupold becoming like Vortex? Sorry for my lack of knowledge but I have not had a Tracking issue with them yet, cross my fingers now.

I have had excellent service from both Leupold and Nightforce. However, I will say in support of Nightforce durability that the NXS is one tough scope !! My rifle slid off wall and all 10 lbs of rifle hit wood floor solid putting nice little dent in tube area. I sent it off because I just knew it was messed up ( I mean even my mount screws were knocked loose ).
Nope, the scope tested out fine by NF and is in use today back on same rifle.
