bojangles Report post Posted Saturday at 04:39 PM I found this fascinating. I killed an old bull last year and couldn’t wait to find out what he got aged at. Turns out he was 14. https://azgfd-portal-wordpress-pantheon.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/25151324/2024-AZ-Elk-Harvest-Age-Results.pdf 1 1

knothead Report post Posted Saturday at 05:05 PM That's a lot of years to be dodging bullets, arrows and bolts. Was he in a remote area or a unit with limited tags or opportunity? Would like to know more about how and where you found him?

He was bony and withered, probably didn’t have much time left. He had an old g5 montec stuck in his backstrap, all tumored over. I got him on a late archery hunt in a general unit. In a very heavily hunted area. I do believe his senses, like eyesight and hearing were going downhill. I just kind of walked right up to him and shot him with my bow. I am one of those people who like to hear how everything played out with all the the details. Old animals garner even higher respect in my book. Anything that can live that long with so many trying to kill it is pretty special. Thanks for sharing.

Only 2 bulls on the list that have been aged older— one 15 and the other 16.
