Manuel Sanchez Report post Posted January 2 To all Coues White Hunter, Unit 32 bye Mammoth doesn't have full access to some good hunting ground anymore. Redhawk is purchasing land on the roads and placing gates with locks. The guy who's doing it is making it into his own personal hunting grounds. Unit 32 now has VERY LIMITED ACCESS. AZAV8ER Report post Posted January 2 Who/what is Redhawk. Is this on the E side or W side of the Galiuro mnts?
missedagain Report post Posted January 2 This is happening on all sides of the unit. It's really a shame that the public can't get an easement to access public land.
Manuel Sanchez Report post Posted January 2 Sorry for not making myself clear. It's on the east side Copper Creek, Blu Bird Area, Castles area. Redhawk is a mining company.

Manuel Sanchez Report post Posted January 2 Yes, Cowboys area is still open. Redhawk is checker boarding on access roads. Hopefully Game and Fish does something. But, I'll not hold my breath on it. Pinal County, State Land, BLM and Forest Land will not do anything. We can't get close enough to backpack inn.

Redman Report post Posted Wednesday at 01:18 AM Redhawk purchased the land from Mercer, they will or are mining it again for copper. For decades, Mercer property had little to no legal access, Lori used to allow a few to pay to access but that stopped. There were a few “back doors” ways to get in, but the main road has been locked for decades. Now Redhawk has closed those back doors as well. This isn’t anything new, but it’s still a dang shame. Much of the access on the Mammoth / San Manuel / Redington side has been blocked for years. I know one of the ranchers personally. He caught people shooting up his equipment and water tanks, called the Sheriff and Game & Fish, and nothing was done. After thousands of dollars in damage, he finally locked up his property (Smallhouse). Now there is no access—and honestly, I can’t blame him. He caught the people responsible, and still nothing happened. He still lets sheep and a few deer hunters on, but it's not open and won't be. Game & Fish isn’t going to do ANYTHING to address Redhawk or any access into 32. They’ve had 30 years to address this access issue and have done absolutely NOTHING...Turkey creek from Safford is the same way... a access road could have been cut decades ago on both sides... now, nothing will happen the cost is a 100x more and more regulation. 32 is as just as bad as 30B - forgot it as a hunting unit - wait until personal drones are available and fly to the public land... I saw that, I think we are still a 5-10 years away for common use, but it is coming. Be interesting to see the impact.... the anti SXS hunters are going to have a cow and those landowners in Montana, Wyoming, etc that block millions of acres of NF, will probably blow a gasket
