It's not really the distance of the shot for me, it's the time it takes for the arrow to travel that distance. I know guys get a big woody when they chrono there bow well over 300fps, but that is still very slow compared to how far a deer can move while the arrow is in flight, how a slight gust of wind can affect an arrow, etc. second shot on a wounded animal at that distance is fine, first shot is irresponsible. I've hunted with several guys that swear how good they are at long range archery.
