You aren't the first guy to have a picture of you or your animal show up in a brochure or on a website for an outfitter that wasn't there when you killed, and maybe doesn't even know or remember you, or how he came into ownership of the picture. Some of the guys that have done that for personal gain even post on this very site. You won't be the last.

In all honesty, I'd be more proud and flattered that my DIY pic showed up in an outfitter brochure, than if my picture with 10 guides was posted all over the web with a watermark and people wondering who the "hunter" was.

BTW I hate watermarks I just see why people do it...

What would keep this guy from slapping "his" watermark on their photo? This is the side of hunting I know nothing about.

My friend Harvey and I were more shocked than anything else. Proud or flattered doesn't come to mind, disgusted that someone would do that for personal gain more like. I've heard stories about this crap. Makes you wonder how lousy of an outfitter he might be to feel the need to do that. And is our pic the only one on there that he has absolutely nothing to do with. Like I said, we have no idea who this guy is.

A quick google search and this first thing that popped up.

From December of last year...

" wanted to let anyone hunting elk or mule deer in Arizona, looking for a guide to steer clear of a company named Camo Joe's Guide Service operating out of Litchfield Park, AZ. Paid a cash deposit up front for 7 day fully guide hunt in unit 6A for late rifle bull elk season. 4 days prior to hunt I contact owner Joe Lorenz to finalize details only to find out due to health issues he is canceling. I'm okay with that as anyone can get sick but he refuses to refund my cash deposit. Very bad business. DO NOT HIRE THIS PERSON FOR YOUR NEXT HUNT"

If anyone knows this guy, feel free to let him know his tomfoolery/dishonesty has not gone unnoticed.

That's pretty unbelievable. Gotta love the internet I guess.

He's not but a few miles from my house, for a very reasonable fee I could be persuaded to head over & nut-punch him for you...

I've got $20 I'll throw in, but I want video!

he said tomfoolery, haven't heard that term since i was a youngster. oh well, be glad you killed bulls big enough that others wanna take credit for it. and those are great bulls. this is another example of what the $$$$ factor does to hunting. Lark.

That bad review doesn't surprise me a bit. Anyone who would do this couldn't possibly be a stand up a guy. I found something online that claimed he has been guiding elk hunts for over 20 years! So..... You mean to tell me in twenty plus years of guiding elk he doesn't have enough good bulls to fill one honest page in his brochure.....

WOW that says A LOT!

Id probably feel pretty pissed too. But like others have said, once you put something up on the web anyone can grab it and use it. And people have no sense of morals when it comes to making money.

There was a story like this on the news a while back where some porn guys had grabbed some pics from some gals facebook page and they turned up in some rather unsavory places, multiple porn sites and some adult dating/hook up sites. Couldnt really do anything other than contact the sites and demand they be taken down, but they web is so big she'll never find all of them.

Since I have friends in that area, I googled the address. Nice place, off Thomas and Jackrabbit Tr.

I had two of my images taken from a similar website and used in Western/cowboy themed Christmas cards. A friend back east came across one and mailed it to me. I notified the card company that I was open to reasonable offers to use the image or to knock it off. They knocked it off.

If someone wants to use your image for advertising, promotion or profit, they need your consent and release.

There was just a case involving Michael Jordan where a store used his image on a coupon. It was an unauthorized promotion using his image without consent, he won millions $.

You should show up at his door and act like a potential customer. Give him enough rope to hang himself. Video that or contact 3 on your Side to do it for ya. Is his license # on the flyer?
