Lance- Another work of art!! Great looking rig.  I think it is getting to be project time (well after Turkey season) and I have a 300wm that will be going on a diet!

Heading to the range this morning.....I am bringing the 6.5SLR along to check my old light target loads and see how the new rifle likes them during sight-in.

Looks like I am only losing about 85 fps with the brand new barrel.  Hopefully gain some of it back once it breaks in too.  From 2800 w. 28" barrel to 2717 w. 22" barrel.

Still have my 140 HVLD hunting loads to shoot, and a 127 LRX load that was 3050fps with the 28" barrel.

If it were a little calmer, and the target frame wasn't moving so much, I think it would be well under 1/2 MOA.  Right now, I am shooting about 1.2" @ 200 yards with it.  Hoping the winds die a bit.

My 6CM Proof barrel sped up 56fps once it broke in.  From 3051 to 3107fps average.

My .280AI Proof barrel sped up 52fps once it broke in.  From 2924fps to 2976fps average.

If my 6.5SLR Proof barrel speeds up about the same, I will be very happy.  2717fps average today for my light loads.  The hunting loads were 2787fps average for 6 shots.  Maybe go to 2770 and 2840? That would be plenty for hunting with the 140 HVLD.

Probably get to 3000+ with those 127LRX.  Haven't shot them in my 6.5 yet but I ran the 7mm 145 LRX... and they were AWESOME!

Lance you had said that the Proof Barrel on my 300 win may get faster.  Well 123 rounds later went from 2810 to 2884 shooting  215 Grain Bergers this is out of a 24 Inch barrel. I ran it up to 2910 with 6 more grains of powder no signs of pressure but the group opened up a bit and it just shot really good at 2884. The turrets on the S&B work fine so I can dial up a bit if I have to :). Love the copper colors of your gun what a beauty.

Did some testing at 200 today.  So far, so good.  I can get the 140s up to 2856, with only 54 rounds down the barrel so far.  I did not find max, but I bet I am fairly close @ 43.5gr.  I think I hit max at 44.0 in the last barrel.

I resized about 300 pieces, and bumped the shoulders back .002" more than the first chamber.  They feed/chamber very smoothly now.

A couple groups at 200 today.

Swapped over to a 130 Hybrid.  And the rifle LOVES them!

These were at 200 yards last weekend during testing.
