Wasn’t easy, didn’t get a ton. Should have started the tomato’s earlier. Homegrown jalapeños are too hot. My onions are still growing. The tomatoes and cilantro have so much more flavor than the store. But they’re pretty much done producing. There’s tomatillos in there also, those things grow like crazy
stanley Report post Posted 23 hours ago Bumper crop of peppers and tomatoes this year for me, starting in January. WTF do you do with a HUGE bowl of Habaneros, when just one is hotter than any normal person would eat?? LOL Ended-up making Tabasco style hot sauce with the Habaneros and Serranos. Also made some pretty darn good Habanero-honey sauce that went great on wings.

PRDATR Report post Posted 20 hours ago Habernaro may be the tastiest of all peppers other than Chipoltes. You just need to sample your current crop as soil types, temperature and where the parent seeds came from all affect it. I always grown plants from the seeds of the peppers and tomatoes I buy in the supermarket. When I pick the peppers if they are too hot for what I am going to use them for I leave out the pith and seeds. You can par boil/blanch the flesh then drain the water to get rid of some of the heat. With hot peppers I will prep them first to get them to the level I want them before I use them in a dish which can take a while. For me there is no specific method as it varies as to what use is. The same pepper can be used in a salsa that will curl your ears or a almost bland omlet that you taste five seconds after you swallow it.
