I'm very grateful for all the veterans out there, past and present.  I'm kinda partial to this one, my dad.1682523074_dadonboeingcover.thumb.JPG.7897fa5e6923095bdf5d47403d86cbef.JPG

Dad was just a 17 year old kid when this picture was taken at the Brooklyn Naval Yard, March 1944. Time to ship out. He dropped out of school the year prior to help support the family and joined the navy at 17,0402201200.thumb.jpg.01e3e414a372cfbce8c823086b1f2cd3.jpg rather than wait to be drafted.

Happy Veterans Day.

I found this picture a year or two ago on facespace. This was Operation Mountain Sweep in Afghanistan in 2002. I am the crew chief/door gunner in the picture. That was a long interesting day.
