House Rock Wildlife Area Tag

Recommended Posts

Anyone know if this is a free range hunt? This looks like a different area than the regular Kaibab/Grand Canyon hunt, wildlife area only.  I've heard they are in a fence is that true? I'm referring to the Oct 11-15 hunt 7502 fall hunt.

I believe it’s the same as Raymond’s ranch. I have range manager for Botha number if you’d like it

I think they just killed the super raffle bison there. Just what I had heard anyway.

The House Rock Wildlife Area isn't open to the super raffle tag.

Sorry I was talking about the Raymond Ranch

Don’t believe the Raymond Ranch is open either to the raffle tag

I know this is an old thread, but both House Rock and Raymond Wildlife Areas are managed, "contained" herds. Not free-ranging due to cattle concerns from other landowners and wildlife/livestock conflicts. The only free-ranging herd in the state is the Kaibab Plateau herd (12A, 12B, 13A). The huntable bison are on many thousands of acres and are spooky, but generally hunters are successful in a few days if they are competent.

I must not be competent then.  I sat in a blind and stared at a salt block for 160 hours and never got a shot.

I meant on House Rock and Raymond.

If you draw the Kaibab, you just need patience and a lot of luck. Lol
