CouesFanatic Report post Posted May 29, 2024 Anyone know if this is a free range hunt? This looks like a different area than the regular Kaibab/Grand Canyon hunt, wildlife area only. I've heard they are in a fence is that true? I'm referring to the Oct 11-15 hunt 7502 fall hunt.

Savageman2506 Report post Posted January 18 I know this is an old thread, but both House Rock and Raymond Wildlife Areas are managed, "contained" herds. Not free-ranging due to cattle concerns from other landowners and wildlife/livestock conflicts. The only free-ranging herd in the state is the Kaibab Plateau herd (12A, 12B, 13A). The huntable bison are on many thousands of acres and are spooky, but generally hunters are successful in a few days if they are competent.

I sat in a blind and stared at a salt block for 160 hours and never got a shot.

I meant on House Rock and Raymond. If you draw the Kaibab, you just need patience and a lot of luck. Lol
