Odds are…. Javelina . I have the same $50 charge, I’d bet 50/1 it’s a pig tag…

Probably  . We seem  to only get the fall tags for turkey  . I've had just 1 spring tag.

It looks like I'll have 41 turkey points.

I only saw 1 person with 39 points last year. So that would of had to be you. The next person back had 35. I don't see how you could of not drawn!?  Unless someone else had more points that didn't actually apply for the draw last year, bonus points only?? (These numbers from draw hunt #s. So alot of high point holders didn't apply this year, last hunt?)

How many points does it take to draw a general turkey tag now a days? It is crazy that I can't draw a turkey tag.  I have drawn 3 rifle bull tags in the same time. It isn't like I am trying to draw a Goulds tag or something.

Seems like most the early spring turkey hunts require 6-7 points nowadays.  Excluding Goulds.    If they would stop allowing the killing of "any" turkeys in the fall a lot more hens might live long enough to reproduce and then we might have more opportunities to hunt in the spring.  From what I have seen and heard there are far more hens killed in the fall than toms.

I've wondered this too. My understanding, I can't remember where this was explained, it may have been something Mike Chamberlain said, was that turkeys have such a short lifespan and so many winter kill, that fall harvest of hen doesn't change the overall spring population much. If that is true for AZ and our mellow winters, I don't know. It would be worth taking this to a commission meeting or bringing up during a hunt guideline comment period.

Our family has drawn 2 sheep tags and 0 Gould's tags in the same amount of time applying.

I want a Goulds tag but no way I am sitting out that long.  I like calling and hunting them way too much.  I am happy so many of you are dead set on drawing a tag because it improves the odds for guys like me to draw stinky ol' Merriam's tag.  Happy Hunting!

Especially when you can buy a Gould's tag for like $1500.
