The Kaibab goat

Actually, one was killed by a hunter on the North Kaibab.  Officials believe it migrated down from Utah.

That's too bad. I guess letting our one (or whatever small number) AZ mtn goat live was too much for some to handle.

It’s a 20k hunt anywhere else and most people’s bucket list animal. Getting to kill one for free in your back yard, priceless lol

That’s rad. Where can we find pics?

The flying thing is dumb because they have those year round pretend otc elk seasons so it’s just illegal to fly and look for wildlife. But the AZGFD is not the FAA. In my mind the whole thing is a gross overreach and not in line with the intent of the law.

I have no problem with it, as they are not a native species in AZ.

I’d love to see pics of the dead goat.

Jul 1, 2025 – Jun 30, 2026 (3,6,7,10,21,22,23,24,26,27, 29,30,32,86,129,147) Open areas Statewide (excluding National Wildlife Refuges, Units 11M, 25M, 26M, 38M, and portions of Units 20B and 42) All mammals EXCEPT game mammals, fur-bearing mammals, predatory mammals, bats, coati, black-footed ferret, New Mexico jumping mouse, Gunnison’s prairie dog, black-tailed prairie dog, jaguar, jaguarundi, ocelot, otter, porcupine and wolves

I guess Mountain Goat would fit under all mammals according to the AZGFD regulations.

Does it not fall under “except game animals”

Its not recognized as an AZGFD game animal since there is no tag for it. They should bring them in and put some on the Grahams and by Flagstaff.

Apparently G&F was consulted prior to harvest and the hunter was told he could legally take the animal.
