Should be kicking in any day now I’d think.

I saw some on Sunday in 22.  Had a buck chasing does 65 yards in front of me and I absolutely screwed up the shots.  First one, he stepped away as I released.   He came back, the does were next to me, and I tried to sneak a shot around a branch and I didn't make it.

This cold wet weather can only help I’d think!   It’s the correct time of year for it.   Maybe another week.

I was in Pine yesterday for a home inspection and they were chasing each other around all morning long. And this was right in the middle of cabins that were less than 50 yards from each other. I had bucks and does run by at less than 5 yards a couple different time. It was crazy to watch and made it hard to work.

It is mind boggling how ultra focused they become on their ONE goal at times!

Many years ago, I was hunting Mearns in the Gardner Canyon area.  We stopped in the bottom of a wash/ravine to hunt birds.  We were getting the dogs and shotguns out, talking loudly and slamming doors.  The whole time we were prepping, there was a nice buck chasing a doe, literally doing circles around our pickup.   LOL

We have this one sob that runs through our place every year. Slob of a mulie. Doesn’t care who or what’s going on. I believe he’s a descendent of previous huge mulies that come thru. Rutted up this week looking for the gals that torment my fruit trees!!
