What do you always forget to bring elk hunting?

Recommended Posts

I'll start. I forget to get tactical gloves for those cold morning hunts (I don't hunt in the snow pack units). Bought them on amazon this week, so should be ready to go.

What do you forget?

I have a packing list saved on my computer. I seem to add to it every year. Especially when I forget something. I always seem to pack WAY too much, rather than not enough. I pack for every weather condition imaginable. Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

I tend to take too much gear, rather than forget something.

An item that has become a must in unit 1 and 27 is a chainsaw. The standing trees, now five years dead, are beginning to fall at an alarming rate. I had to cut my way out one afternoon in October.

Good luck to all!

I almost always forget something and it is usually different from year to year. Last year I forgot the dang lip balm and they dried out. You guys forget Lance said "it is my wife's and daughters use list" and we won't need much of it.
