Rumor is, there's a crappie bite at sag right now.

I like good rumors 😄

I'm headed up today for the weekend. If I do half as well as standman , I will be tickled to death!

I too had a trip planned for this weekend but this dang cold front has got me thinking next weekend might be better. Might as well do both just in case.

Saturday was SLLLOOOWWW. And crazy wind in the afternoon. Didnt stick around for Sunday. We pulled out early and went to the ISE show. I ate all the fillets I brought home last night, so no freezer stock for me yet. A week of normal weather should help. However, I am going south this weekend, I know I can stock the freezer on the Sea of Cortez if I dont get blown out.

Congrats standman. I remember the days at san carlos with my grandfather (buddy culpepper) and catching crappie like crazy. Hundreds of crappie in a weekend.

What are you using for lure/bait Standman?

I had a old fella show me a rig about 10 years ago at Bartlett. I laughed at it, until I used it. Very simple, bobber, and small rubber curly tail jig, 3 or 4 feet below the bobber. The trick was to 1/2 crank fast, then stop, crank then stop. That day, we stopped counting at 75. They just can't stand the stop and go.

Jig set ups are outfishing minnows but it's more about "the hot spots" like shootin' fish in a barrel.

Jigs work way better than minnows. Fishing is just phenomenal right now.
