Jasper17 Report post Posted January 19 Specifically want to know who or where you are buying new trucks. I'm looking for a new GMC Denali or AT4 2500 or 3500 SWB with diesel. I'm not opposed to going out of state if the deal is right. A good contact if you have one or anything else I might be missing, or maybe someone on here sells new trucks and treats people good. Thanks, any info is much appreciated.
knothead Report post Posted January 19 Sorry, I can't help you but if/when you buy, report back and tell us how much money you saved by going this route of searching best seller. Good Luck with Buy.
jknister Report post Posted January 19 I dont have a go to dealer but go to Youtube university before you set foot on a dealership. Search Kevin Hunter on youtube, he has tons of videos about how to get the best deal, watching out for add ons, upsells in the finance office, etc. You and me are novices at buying vehicles, meaning we do it once every few years. The dealer is a pro and they are good at extracting every last cent out of you. So by learning on youtube from Kevin or other channels like his you can maximize your chances of getting the best deal.
HuntHarder Report post Posted January 19 I looked for mine for a few months. In the end, Van GMC caved in and gave my pickup at the price I was willing to pay. Overall it was a good experience. I did 99% of the negotiating thru email. When they agreed, I went down and signed the paperwork. Check Laura GMC as well. They are one of the highest volume and lowest prices. Good luck.
EarlyBronco Report post Posted January 19 I was in dmv the other day, a guy bought a new car out of state to save money, he was trying to register it here and still had to pay the az state tax before they would let him register it, I heard them tell him like 2500 was his total, he was pissed, just something to think about before you look out of state

Check pricing with Dave Smith Motors, Kellogg, ID. Fly in to Spokane, and their shuttle will pick you up and take you to the dealership, about 40 min. away. Conduct the transaction, then enjoy the beautiful scenery on the way back to AZ - either through Missoula, or through Lewiston. If you go through Lewiston, the Jack O'Connor Hunting Heritage and Education Center is a must-see for anyone who is remotely interested in hunting, fine guns, world-class taxidermy, and some of the memorabilia of the Dean of Outdoor Writers. Last but not least, you can stop at the casinos on the way home (Jackpot, Wells, Ely, Las Vegas).

AZbowhntr Report post Posted August 1 I have bought my last 2 trucks at Henry Brown and deal directly with Ben Brown. He is the fleet manager (also Henry Browns grandson) and I skip all the sales crap. I don't know that I got the very best deal out there but I feel happy.
chefb Report post Posted August 1 Will second Dave Smith in Kellogg. Yes, you do have to pay the state tax to register, but not the city tax so you save a bit there. Was a super easy transaction/ purchase & the drive back to AZ had the engine broken in nicely through some beautiful country!
az41mag Report post Posted August 1 For those of you purchasing out of state, is the price difference substantial enough to make the trip worth it?

Well . . . as my grade school teachers used to say, let your conscience be your guide. Also, make sure you are on solid legal footing, as you can be prosecuted for tax fraud, which is more serious apparently, than just tax avoidance. Many folks are wise to this, and have the toll free numbers and websites for reporting tax cheats. Had a friend who was a Tucson PD sergeant, super nice guy, went way out of his way to buy a new tricked-out Ford pickup in Wisconsin, then kept the Wisconsin plates while living in Tucson. He was always sweating how to back in to parking places so no one would see the out of state plate. The heartburn may not be worth it. Not to mention neighbor resentment for not paying your fair share. But if you are a rich Paradise Valley snowbird/attorney, or have friends who happen to be tax attorneys, then maybe that is what you should consider.
