Baby quail sightings

Couple years ago I watched one grab a juvenile cottontail on a job site with a cockiness and aggressiveness of a mountain lion. The other day on old Spanish trail one ran out in front of a car to try and grab some poor critter and got plowed. It brightened my day!

If we are confessing our sins, the first thing I ever shot with my marlin 30-30 back in 1978 was one of those things that go Beep beep.  Glad I finally got that off my chest.

G&F probably wouldn’t bother with it. I remember a story of two old boys in Sun City West who were neighbors and the one shot one of the little bastards with a pellet gun. The neighbor called the sheriff and a deputy showed up and pretty much laughed but made the comment the neighbor should call G&F. They never showed up.

I live out in picture rocks, Far West tucson. It took a while before we started seeing babies but we've been seeing them in greater numbers and more frequently later. Still nothing more than about six at a time.

I have some around my house in Safford but most pairs only have 4 or 5 babies this year.
