Kirk on the other hand pretty much has received full military honors as well as a flight on Air Force 2. Im not the only combat veteran that feels this way. Its just an insult to combat veterans who have fought and died in combat. He represents a generation, life was taken to early. Thank you for your service and this is what you fought for, freedoms and the right to have voice and opinion. Don't get my wrong veterans are always top shelf in my book. Both parties are masters at this and DJT & company are using it to the fullest extent possible to appeal the their fan base. CK should not have been given the AF2 ride, honors and privledges that he was, but see my first sentence as to why it was done. Eddie I agree about the tragedy going to waste saying. But Good. It’s about time the right fought fire with fire. Conservatives are usually treated like second class citizens compared to the left. 5

I don't know, was Kirk the first civilian to ever receive military honors? I've know a few veterans. Some talk about it (combat) others won't. Maybe because I wasn't one. Registered (mandatory) for the draft in 69. heck of a lot of turmoil back then. Body counts were the norm, footage too, on the six o'clock news. Saw newsreel of a helo landing in a field, picking up wounded. VC ran up and tossed a grenade into it. Back then they gave the names of the casualties. That day it was an 18 yo man from my high school. Nicest guy you ever met. State wrestling champ. Loved by everyone. I was angry for a very very long time. I had enlisted too. On my induction day the doctor in charge looked at the psoriasis on my arms and booted me. Neither my buddies dad who was a 20 year Navy Net or the NY State Senator could waive it. Walk of shame. I hope you can get some solace out of all of this. We're all in it together and share a common love for our country even though we travel different paths. bigbuckfever Report post Posted September 22 I went to the Charlie Kirk memorial service today and I left the house at 5:50 this morning and got home about 7 pm. I did stop for a quick bite on the way home. That was the most wholesome and satisfying event I have witnessed since my innocence of youth. It was worth the four hours wait in traffic to get there. Personally, I am not a Christian, but it didn't bother me one bit that 95% of the program was about connecting with Jesus. It had me smiling so much that so many people were so genuinely positive and friendly. Only negative Nacy's I saw were the few people in the "protest area". That was a complete cesspool of trash, while when you passed through that area, it was a remarkable difference. RIP Charlie.
