Recommended Posts

last time I seen turkey eating anything we were sitting by elk tank after a long hike for elk and they were eating white cheese popcorn I was throwing at them. of coarse it was the friday start of elk season. turkey season ended thurday with archery deer. 2-10 yards and one day late.

could be but I would be betting on bears

Well all of this is a bummer to hear right now as I'm headed out on Friday to 8 to try to kill a Tom.

It's raining here right now and that'll turn to snow in 8 tonight.

Last time it snowed in 8, the birds were more vocal than they were before.

I helped a buddy in 8 on the first hunt. On Thursday he helped his buddy's son kill his first bird on the last day of the jr hunt, it was called in and they had a buch of birds gobbling. On Friday we got our but kicked on roosted birds, changed location, and did some mid day calling. Had two mature toms come in quiet at 11:30. One went for a ride home. We didn't find as much sign or birds as in years past just worked areas that had sign and it worked. Good luck
