Missing the walleye described in another thread but this was a rare feast a few weeks prior to that which was worth documenting.

Which wild game did you like the best.  I have a guess.

My guess is your guess is correct. Not the chicken!

Lion is without a doubt the best wild game I've had. The sheep, especially as a brat, was delicious and I don't enjoy "gamey" meats. I love coues deer and taste a clear difference from mule deer.

Did they mix beef/pork into the brats?

I process everything and did just 5-10% fat from a pork shoulder. Crockpot the pork.

No fat when I'm making jerky sticks on other game.

We butcher more than 6 pigs a year and do all our own bacon. I can't go back to store bought.

Agree. These are Costco bellies. The rendered fat is the best part or at least equal to the bacon itself.  Adds to lots of dishes.

 Lunch today.

Grilled cheese, 5 cheese (parmesan inside both sides, white and cheddar, fresh mozzarella, and swiss), tomatoe and chives.  Looks messy, but very tastey!

As a kid I could never imagine ruining a perfectly good peanut butter sandwich by putting jelly on it it. I only put jelly on toast. Now were talking back in the 50's when the only bread Mom bought was Wonder Bread for us five kids.

I got lucky a few weeks ago and was home for a night.

New York strip, Mexican street corn, and white mac n cheese.

Gonna try and remember to take pictures of my pizza oven adventures at camp this weekend.
