Getting ready to put new tires in my Tundra. Currently have the Toyo Open Country AT3. I’m concerned about the excessive outer edge tread damage done by mainly the 36 roads.  Loafbrange F but will go to E.

anyone have any luck with BFGs,  Falken Wikdpeak, or any others?

I switched from the Open Country AT3 to Nitto Recon Grapplers a few months ago. Saw some great reviews by a couple folks that put a lot of off-road miles on their vehicles hunting and guiding up north. Not a lot of off-road use for mine yet but very pleased on highway so far.

We mainly use the bfgs on our work trucks and to say we spend a little bit of time on dirt roads is an understatement. They're expensive but they do seem to hold up pretty well.

I am currently running the Falken Wildpeaks on three of my vehicles. I run the E all terrains on my dedicated hunting vehicle. I also have the same tires on my 3/4 ton Duramax, and a set on my pathfinder. I have tried about every tire on the market and these are by far the best for wear, ride quality, and work great off-road with no chipping, cuts, or flats. I tow a 5th wheel with my Duramax and the Falkens perform much better than my Toyo’s did. I had the BFGs on the Duramax for about two weeks just to try them, but returned them for the Falken’s.

Cooper Discovers AT3 from Discount on my Tundra and family Sequoia. I don't treat them nice and they have been a reliable and smooth all-terrain for several sets now.

I have been using BFG ATs for many many years. They are still my go to tire. I don't love the mileage I am getting out of this set in my Ram 3500, but it is a heavy truck and I will still get 35k. The last set in this truck went 43k with some tread left. On a Tundra it would be better.

The only place the BFG struggles is in Mud.

I had Open Country AT2s on my last HD Ram, and the BFGs were better for sure all around. Especially ice and snow.

The set that got 43k were 315x70x17 e rated. This set is 35x12.5x17 E Rated.

I have Cooper Discoverers on my 07 5.9 and I despise them. I haven't bought a tire in years, as they keep coming apart (tread separation) and getting screws/nails. If they were more expensive than just buying certificates at discount, they long would be gone.

I have Mickey Thompson Bajas on my 94 toyota and I love them. There is a little bit of noise on the highway, but they work very well off road.

Tried the big O made by Toyo and had them wear premature at 36,000. Good tire but just wore fast.
previously had the nitro terra grappler which did very well up to 45,000 then had separation on two. Now just went back to the Toyo AT3 and so far happy again.
pushed 3 sets of Toyo AT 3 past 50,000 in the past so going back to them.
all were E rated sets.

I currently have about 35K on a set of 305/70-16's AT3W on a F250 I bought used with maybe 5-7K on them. I had Discount swap them out with my other tires (TOYO) and since they were already on rims they offered to warranty them for about $50 a tire back in 2019. They are super quiet and I only had one tire failure a couple of years ago and that was replaced. I rotate them every 5K, or at least Discount does. They are the best tire I have used since I bought this truck in 2000.

I ran Nittos for over 10 years before switching over to the Toyo. The Nitto was better to me than the Toyo getting 50K a tire. I was going to buy three new AT3W's as Discount won't touch them once they reach 6 years, but they no longer make them. The new tire is the AT3W which in the same size is 7 pounds heavier per tire and gives a rougher ride on the street per the reviews I have read and with the Discount Warranty a set is $1,800+ (Ouch). The AT3W is rated at 55K and the AT4W is rated for 65K. I wish they still made the AT3W's.

BFG KO2 and KO3 are great tires. The KO3 balances a bit better with the new technology but both are great on and off road.
