AZbowhntr Report post Posted November 24, 2025 A buddy and I ran the ski rentals at Alpine Ski and Sports in the late 80's when we moved down here. We worked about 80 hours a week and took off Friday night for Sunrise to ski Saturday and Sunday and came back home and did it all over again. Those were a couple great years. Plus we got to ski for free in AZ because we worked there. There was always great snow back then. I have a bull tag coming up and see that we are supposed to get more moisture next weekend. As good as it is I don't want to see it during the hunt. It may be miserable out there. Hopefully not like 2019 when the big storm came through Thanksgiving night. We had tags that year too and it was horrible the first few days.
Crazymonkey Report post Posted November 24, 2025 Just had my dad and another hunter in 6a . Two good days to hunt then the weather came in. Lots of water and snow. It really shut things down! Lucky to get the trucks out ! The trailers are still stuck up there. My buddy has 7 hunters up right now. Going to try and get the trailers out Friday. I've got to get mine then my dad's. HyNoon Report post Posted 1 hour ago On 11/22/2025 at 8:48 PM, NOTAGS said: I remember my senior year in high school, Sunrise had a 180” base! Ski tips would drag in a couple spots if you weren’t careful. I remember complaining when lift tickets hit $18 a day…. Looking at lift prices now, how the heck can a family afford to ski? Worse than a trip to a Disney hosing. I quit after blowing out a knee, probably saved way more than the surgery cost after all these years.. Yep too expensive and m my knees can't handle that anymore.
