Roosevelt Mark Report post Posted Thursday at 04:42 PM 25 minutes ago, Sky Island junkie said: That’s interesting history. I knew a little but most I didn’t. I got to taking to someone years ago about the old Jensens. Man the Az Sportsman on Camelback brings back memories. In the 80s they had guest speakers come in like on Tue or Thur evening to speak. If I remember right HG Listiak and Bob Hirsch were somewhat regulars Yep, good stuff. Remember when HG got busted for cheating in a tournament? That was the end of him, know more radio show or tournaments. Sunset sporting goods in Tempe was another good store.

I loved Arizona sportsman because it had a collection castaic baits in like 1999 I started there in 92 under the old ownership but wasn't long after that Turners bought them - Probably 93. I left in '03 and I think they closed not long after that - '04/'05 maybe. The camelback store was interesting - I managed that one for a year or so before moving back to the mesa store. Positioned in-between a Chinese buffet and strip club. Suits and celebrities from downtown area during the lunch hour and a little bit of everything in the evenings. 10Turkeys Report post Posted Thursday at 09:34 PM There was the Phoenix Shooters Supply also. When Sportsman's Warehouse opened it closed a couple of Mom and Pops around, it was hard to feel sorry for them when they filed bankruptcy. Bear Mountain used to have a different name if I remember right. The Pistol Parlor used to be on Southern and Country Club. When I bought this Rem 700 from Az Sportsman, a customer came in wanting a rifle that would shoot out to 1500 yards, he wanted to hunt one of them Coues Deer. And you never said it was in fountain hills. It all makes sence to my DA now.
wildwoody Report post Posted Thursday at 10:55 PM Az Sportsman. Was that the place that had an owner named Chris, like in 01 shot a giant antilope with his bow, and was in a pissing match with a fellow named Corly who shot Antenna, another huge goat. Some controversy with wounded kill and pictures with different bow? Just asking smoked a few since then. Thanks.

Siwash Report post Posted Friday at 06:57 AM Teaser's was the name of the strip club next to the AZ Sportsmen on 7th Ave/Camelback. The juxtaposition suited a number of commerce needs for me as a young man. I liked that intersection 20+ years ago, don't recognize it anymore. In my experience the Turner's in Tucson (formerly 2nd Amendment) has a respectable inventory for the necessities of hunting/shooting/reloading and the franchise overall has a good rep. in Cali from the guys I fish next to out of San Diego, who more often than not are from Orange County. I go up to the guy and ask hey can you help me get a tripod adapter on some EL Ranges? He looked at me like I was speaking Russian. said he’d never heard of it before. I was like what!? Then I figured out, not the same place lol. Anyways, it’s open by superstition springs. I guess it’s a gun store from California. they got some ocean fishing stuff only that interested me. We carry several of the Outdoorsman products in our Tempe Store -- Tripods, adapters, pan heads, pistol grip mounts etc. Call us next time and see if we have it. Maybe we can save you a trip to Fountain Hills. 480-621-5555 We also have an extensive selection of Swarovski Binoculars and spotters. EL Range, Pure, BTX, etc etc.
