Ed67 Report post Posted January 21, 2018 I got out this morning for my fourth day hunt and 3 out of four times including today Ive been into herds. I havent been able to close the deal due to poor shot choices and crunchy ground conditions. This morning was cold, around 24 degrees with frozen ground and dusting of snow on some hills around me. I left the truck around 0730 and after walking about 15 minutes I spotted my first pig. A cow got between us and spooked thus spooking the pig. Another 100 yards I found the rest of the group with two separated from the main herd. I went after them. I moved in to about 30 yards and parted the pigs hair with my first shot. She ran about 10 feet slowing to a walk. I hit her with my second shot (G5 Montec) and she took off down the hill.
