Big or Bust

What's for dinner tonight?

Recommended Posts

I took my boy down to the desert to help a couple of buddies on a javalina hunt. On the 5hr drive down all he could talk about was wanting to kill and eat a rabbit. As luck would have it mid morning Friday this guy changed shade trees on the ridge right by camp. A few shots later this sucker was on the camp stove getting cooked for lunch. Not my favorite but that lil guy was so proud it was amazing.

Nothing wrong with rabbit. I ate so much while I was in school, I probably had my life’s quota. Grilled, stewed, fried, baked…..

Cooked in  foil w bbq sauce over coals is still a winner too!

Helll yea! Right when I was getting divorced, my boy wanted to go rabbit hunting so we did a few times. He loved it and loved the rabbit stew.

Never actually tried fry bread before but momma made some fry bread tacos on a whim.  Pretty dang good.  Gonna have to get her to make some breakfast versions with sugar and honey.  IMG_20240229_171759.thumb.jpg.ddd19bd9dfd2078070240345e2b4333e.jpg

Well that’s how the whole thing starts.  Now he’s a hunter and respecting wildlife.  I still love Midwest squirrels the big fox squirrels were trophies.  On to ducks geese white tails more rabbits an occasional elk turkeys etc…  Then you’re old and can’t get a tag WTF.  Happy he’s out door’s not playing a stupid video game!  Great Pics!

Not dinner... Had a hankering for a fried egg and onion Sammy.  Backyard eggs, homemade bread with a little mayo and crystal hot sauce

Family movie night, Dune part 1.  Prepping for part 2 in the theatre next weekend.  Remembered seeing the first version in the theatre as a kid and decided to make an event out of it.

Momma killed it, gumbo, stuffed mushrooms and Cajun/hot wings with some chicken dip.  Doughnut desert the kid brought.
