The 3rd party by me charges a $40 convenience fee on top of what the DMV normally charges.

Got mine in Payson, made appointment, brought pass port, 2 pieces of mail and birth certificate. 10mins great conversation, and don't have to worry about losing my passport on little trips. In wallet , good to go and it shows I'm legal. Funny part is, it all started in 2005 and kept getting pushed down the road, well the road came to an end.

you can get a passport card, that is also good when you come back from mexico, you don't have to use the passport book.

They forced me into it 3 years ago when I renewed my CDL.

I went in October to DMV in Tempe. Got there 20 minutes before they opened and was in and out in 10 minutes. Had my new license  6 days later and kept my original one in the meantime.

I don't see why you would need this to fly within our own country, pretty much passport clearances to fly state to state. Drive anywhere you would like though.

What I don’t understand you can’t fly with a regular DL but present  a water bill and makes you good to fly

Only for ground travel to Mexico and Canada.  Need a passport to fly.

yes i know that , if you go to rocky point you don't need the book.

Exactly.. no one cares what Your address is you,  can go online and change it every day with the mvd  if you wanted to. Also you don't have to show your ss card either, you can just tell it to them .....
