ctafoya Report post Posted 20 hours ago The best fishing experience I have ever had was fishing off the coast of Mexico on a charter out of San Diego. It was also my worst. Sick as a dog for three days. I took the Dramamine, wore the pressure point bands, didn't matter. Started chumming as soon as I couldn't see land anymore. The chumming caught me shark though! What can I do to get over it? I'd like to start ocean fishing again and want to have an enjoyable experience the next time.
wildwoody Report post Posted 20 hours ago Oh I feel your pain, I here you can get a prescription from your DR. Supposed to work great. I don't have sea legs either.
stanley Report post Posted 19 hours ago I'm cursed with motion sickness, too. For planes and cars, a double/triple dose of Dramamine works for me. As for offshore fishing, I figured out long ago that I just can't partake. Never heard of a prescription. Maybe try Wildwoody's suggestion and check that out. Good luck!
Ed67 Report post Posted 18 hours ago Over the counter patches work fine and last 48-72 hours. Put one behind your ear the night before you head out and you will be fine. Dramamine makes me sleepy. Patches don’t

Edge Report post Posted 15 hours ago When I divorced from my x in '96, I jumped on a catcher/factory boat in Seattle heading to the Bering. I spent the next 3 1/2 years at sea. I've always had motion sickness, bad. Ed67 is absolutely correct, you need to get ahead of the curve and take the patch a minimum of a day or two before you head out to sea. Also, keep chugging the H2O and electrolytes or your next bout will be with constipation.

az41mag Report post Posted 9 hours ago Another vote for the Scopolamine patches. They work wonders for me. Just put one behind your ear a few hours prior to going on the boat and all is good. The only downside is that they're prescription only so have to go see the doctor first.
Flashgun Report post Posted 8 hours ago It is weird for me. Sometimes when i scuba dive i get it and other times nothing at all. I have never been able to figure it out. Somedays are super choppy and i am totally fine, and then the next trip it could be totally mild and I am sick as a dog. I gave up trying to figure out what worked. I just give it a go and hope for the best lol
PRDATR Report post Posted 7 hours ago Four patches of Scopolamine at Walmart for $25.71 using Single Care App. GoodRx was a few bucks more. I do a patch the night before and it lasts for three days. Makes your stomach a little tight and limit your alcohol consumption. Have you Doctor call in a prescription.
