Flatlander Report post Posted yesterday at 03:05 AM Ahead of the deer and sheep draw I think we as AZ residents owe the NR community a PSA about conditions here. That the state is pitiful. The brush is all burnt up. The tanks are all dry. The wolves have eaten all the sheep. The deer are lion poop. The border is a mess. And it’s infested with rattlesnakes. I figured with the way algorithms and social media work if enough of us post the same Info it might fill up some feeds and hep make sure nobody wastes their points in a lousy state.
bigorange Report post Posted yesterday at 03:07 AM Straight facts. Don't forget the elk numbers are way down especially in the sleeper units like 36c and 37a.

firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted yesterday at 03:29 AM Only way to kill anything is in 23a, with a $11,000 rifle that you're not allowed to see pictures of. 2
AzDiamondHeat Report post Posted yesterday at 03:45 AM It's all the locked gates that really ruined it. I mean, I get why they did it...5000 side by sides on every trail every weekend runing their own baja 1000 ruining the wilderness. If you dont have a full posse of guides locking down an area for you there's little to no chance of a successful hunt here.

daryl_s Report post Posted 15 hours ago In all seriousness I did see 3 rattlesnakes last September and October in an area where I had seen zero in the previous 30 years. Also, in that same area I had my deer hunt messed up by a mountain lion. Had some really great bucks I was watching all Spring and then the first day I started my late Summer/early Fall scouting I ran into a tank of a mountain lion. Never did find those deer again. Pretty sure they are lion poop now. No reason to waste your time here in AZ

I only had a little SIG P365XL on me, and that made it a little more challenging, but yeah, that was his last day alive. At that point the damage to my spot was already done, which I verified with about a dozen more trips in there over the next 4 months. It’s such a shame too, cause I was watching some studs and my dad and I drew the October tag.
