How many animals have you harvested in Arizona

Recommended Posts

Well, I've bowhunted your great state annually as a non-resident for well over 30 years. During my adventures there, I've been very lucky to have arrowed 4 bull elk, a Coues buck, over 20 mule deer, 7 javelina, 12 coyotes, a few foxes, and a gorgeous desert bobcat. Love the state of Arizona.

That's a lot of success from an out-of-stater bohntr. Congrats. With so much negativity lately about the game and fish and poor management its nice to see somebody having something nice to say for a change. Means a lot coming from a non resident with so much success in our great state. I too love az.

Well this is a nice thread. Good to know a little more about you guys.

In AZ:

3 Muley

3 Coues

2 Cow Elk

2 Bull Elk

1 Antelope

1 Pig (I could definitely give Heat a run for his money as the worlds worst pig hunter)

1 Bear

and a Coati that was the toughest one of all to get.

Been hunting in AZ for 38 years (since I was 5 shooting lizards). Only really got semi-serious about 20 years ago though.

Bull elk x2 (1 rifle, 1 archery- only drawn two tags so far in AZ)

Mule deer x11 (5 rifle, 6 archery)

Coues x1 (rifle)

Javelina x5 (3 archery, 2 rifle)

Turkey x4 (all archery)

Coyotes x??? A few...(all firearms, no archery...yet)

I have yet to be drawn for AZ antelope.

No bear yet.

No lion yet. The only real chance I had was the ONE year I did not buy a tag....of course. 30 yards away for 30 minutes.

Updated the tally with my 2014 year so far.

Ok, here in Az:

10 archery coues

8 archery mule deer

Not sure how many rifle deer but quite a few less than archery.

1 rifle bull

4 archery bulls

8 archery cows

1 rifle antelope

2 goulds spring turkey (soon to be three :) )

7 spring merriam turkey

1 archery fall turkey

9 archery javelina

2 bears

1 lion

I think that has got all the big game animals.

My paltry AZ list (Mind you I didn't hunt big game til I was 30)

2 Coues -rifle (I've only ever drawn 2 deer tags)

3 Javelina -Bow

1 Javelina -Rifle

1 Spring Turkey -Shotgun (I've only ever drawn 2 turkey tags)

I've had 2 elk tags. 1 archery 1 late rifle. Didn't fill either.

That's it.

I've helped on 20+ kills with other people. Usually the draw does not like me. I hope to add elk and antelope to the list this year!

I also killed a whitetail with my bow in Texas.
