Mine only weighs about $2500 with optics. But considering how much time it spends sitting in the closet and not being used, that money would've likely been better spent on strippers and beer.

All my rifles and shotguns weigh nothing on the money scale, all inherited. Even my ammo was free for the most part. Deer and quail are still being dropped with reloads from the 60s and 70s.

The old Remington 760 (the 'meat pole') is about 9.5# (the 10 round magazine didn't help).

Winchester 88 (the 'meat hammer') is a hearty 11#+

This went from how much does your gun weigh to how much money do you have in your gun

I look at it this way....

I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't do drugs, I don't have a bunch of babies running around, my truck is paid off, and I don't have a $2000/month rent, so my vice is my rifles and reloading. Money well spent in my opinion.

Kind of like a car. A 76 Pinto will get you from A to B. And that is fine for a lot of people. Even though a 13 Mustang GT 500 still gets you to the same place, it is just more fun to drive, with a better ride and with a sense of pride doing what you enjoy.
