When do you predator hunt?

Recommended Posts

Is it similar to deer and elk? Early and late, or can you do it all day any day? New to this and im planning on taking momma out tomoro to give it a whirl with some hand calling.

First and last stand of the day are the best but you can call in coyotes St anytime of the day or year.

Mid to late morning is when I have best results. They are nothing like deer or elk. You can hunt them whenever. I know people who have great results in the summer when its baking!

I hunt them whenever I see them.  Weekends, work days (as long as I have a rifle and do not have a customer behind me), morning, noon, evening, or on I-10 @ 80mph and they make the grave mistake of trying to beat my truck across the road......

Had one sitting out in the middle of the fields right there in Nutrioso last week with probably 100 cow elk standing behind him. Besides sitting in the middle of houses, etc he had a great backdrop and he knew I couldn't shoot............poor thing was missing his tail!!!!

I thought I would revive this thread. I was searching for which seasons to hunt coyotes here in southern Arizona and got some good answers just by reading this thread. Just wondering how you guys change up your calling tactics at different times during various seasons, if at all. Thanks.

I been using the same calls same places same times since 82. during deer and elk season Im up north more so call alot then. a deer or elk is just a bonus as I would rather kill yotes.

yotes are everywhere and always around. I see more in evenings and mornings but call more during the midday..
