Recommend me some books/novels please

Recommended Posts

man, thanks for all the ideas fellers. It’s much appreciated. Blinds are a drag but i actually enjoy it anymore. I would rather have 1

Big buck walk by the blind than have 20 stalk opportunities.

Anything by Ed Abbey. Desert Solitaire is his most famous and is great but there are others.

Maybe a perfect book for reading in a deer blind is Ed Abbey's A Voice Crying in the Wilderness (Vox Clamantis in Deserto) - Notes From a Secret Journal. It's small (very packable) and is a collection of his aphorisms, some only a sentence long, so you can read it, then look up for deer while you're thinking about it, letting it percolate, and deciding if you agree with it our not.

I'd recommend you get out and hunt instead of sitting around reading books lol. I could never sit a blind. More power to you!

LOL. Me neither. I can sit for about 60-90 minutes, then I get happy feet.

I was strictly spot and stalk until last year. I sat some last year. I found it extremely relaxing compared to my normal chaotic life. And equally as successful.

The Operator is a good read. It is the story by Robert Oneal about his Navy seal experience. He is the one who shot Osama Bin laden. Some guys hate him for spilling the details but I actually enjoyed the book.

Here's my go to resource for AZ history (which is stranger than fiction).https://speccoll.library.arizona.edu/collections/arizona-southwest.

You can download on to a device for your blind time.

The collection includes diary's, newspaper accounts, coroner reports, commander logs..

Great stories of pioneers, military campaigns, early prospectors, etc.
