    Its a wandering terrestrial gartersnake (Thamnophis elegans). They're the most common gartersnake around here and the ones I encounter the most in the Flagstaff area.

    Thanks, I'm used to garter snakes having a stripe going down their body. When I tried to pick him up he wouldn't stop striking lol, also not used to that from other garter snakes I've messed with.

    Looks like a Gartersnake to me. i have seen a few up near Williams and flagstaff
