To Shoot or not to shoot, that is the question....

Recommended Posts

Not a huge fan of hypothetical questions, but I do have one that has been on my mind.  The rational side of my head says to not even think about or leave it in the hands of the Game and Fish to decide, here goes.

Let's talk Unit A and Unit B.

Unit A and Unit B are separated by a river.

Say have a rifle tag in Unit A and have a great glassing spot in Unit B.

Could you shoot from Unit B at your Buck in Unit A, where you legally have a tag?

That'd be a negative. Hunting from one unit and "taking game" in another.

What if the shooter has a 3 year old trail cam pic of the deer when it was a spike?

I asked a g&f officer that question years ago.  He pretty much said yeah but Subject to interpretation of the officer.

Since we’re being hypothetical, what if you shoot the deer in unit a from unit b glassing point…and it runs into unit b and dies? Similar to the “shot on public and ran onto the Rez/private” issue and depend on the blood trail as proof?

That’s what you call “a likely story”

here’s your ticket for poaching

It's a good thing that's not how law works, my friend.
