Let it go.  This was likely decided long ago.

To you "deal with it, life ain't fair" guys, your day's coming should you live so long. Then it's your turn to deal with it.

There’s guys that can’t draw a bow on this website who are on the deal with it life ain’t fair side.

Then they've dealt with it.

And there are guys on here who do not hunt with crossbows who see this effort as an uneducated and unnecessary solution to a problem that is poorly defined and even more poorly understood, even if it does not directly impact them.

Always crazy to me when a bunch of self-identified “conservatives” start chomping at the bit for a bunch of extra government regulation from people who neither understand what they are talking about nor have to live with the consequences. 🤯

If you can hunt with a crossbow then you can hunt with a gun. I have yet to see anywhere in the proposal where it forbids anyone from hunting. The argument of a few on here just doesn't hold sand. Pick up a gun and go hunt.

True but a lot of guys want to hunt the rut. Rifle rut tags are few and far between and very hard to draw so the best and sometimes only option to hunt the rut are the archery hunts.

How many people with crossbows are actually killing deer shitting down the units tho? Is there a huge percentage ?

You’re reaching. If you’re gonna bring up the creating regulation than why are the hunts separated at all. Let’s just have one season. You can use whatever you want. There ya go, it’s deregulated.

I can't shoot a bow anymore due to health issues. I just deal with it because that's where I'm at.

Good question. Probably not too many but I don’t know. I will say that just 1 deer or elk taken by someone who cheated the system so they could use a crossbow during an archery hunt is 1 too many.

I’m in the group that can’t shoot archery gear any more. The turds that cheated the system are to blame. Life goes on. Clouds rolling in now might go find some velvet Coues.

This is where it's at for me. There are guys who think their odds will be 1/4th of 1 % better if legit crossbow hunters are left out. That's reason enough. What's ethical about taking away the tripod rest?

That tripod part had me scratching my head. I still can't think of a good reason for implementing a rule like that other than to keep the crossbow guys from being able to shoot further than the bow hunters thus making it a little more like an actual bow hunt.

I am all for making it harder to get a cross bow permit. This has been taken advantage of for way too long. It doesn't seem like the changes will have any affect on the people who are disabled and actually need one.

I'm curious as to why the concern over a crossbow hunter that has a valid  permit. The  arguments I have heard is it's going to keep units open longer and eliminate cheaters. That and avoiding a draw. With a limited resource and  increasing pressure anyone thinking a draw isn't coming has their head in the sand. And probably sooner rather than later.

OTC deer is dying.  I give it 3 years, 5 tops.  Unit 1 is the proof.  80 tags filled in 6 days, limit was 45 for the season.  Let's be generous and say 20% were crossbow, combination champ and crossbow permit hunters, so that's 16,lets remove them. So 64 were killed by vertical bow hunters. Unit still closed in 6 days.

This year 1 and 27 went to the draw. Next year it will be the next group of mule deer units. And so it will be...

Self preservation. Take away someone else’s opportunity to save mine.
