Special occasion restraunt in tucson?

Recommended Posts

Sounds similar. Probably same owners at one point or connected. Tucson location is definitely still open.

Kev - what part of town are you staying?

Try Firebirds or La Hacienda for steaks. Vivace or Michelangelos for Italian. The Keg is ok but horrible service. Floras downtown is great lunch along with the market next door for delicacies like Serrano Ham. Tanque Verde Guest Ranch for Sunday brunch.

are you talking about Pinacle Peak patio in north scottsdale?

Pinnacle Peak Patio was a famous steakhouse in Scottsdale, Arizona, that operated from 1957 to 2015, known for its Old West theme, mesquite-grilled steaks, and a policy of cutting off any ties worn by male diners. The restaurant closed permanently in June 2015 due to the sale of its land and is now a piece of Scottsdale history.
  • History: The restaurant began in 1957 as a small store that evolved into a large steakhouse.
  • Closing: It closed its doors on June 28, 2015, after nearly 60 years of operation.
  • Tie policy: A famous and unique policy was that if you wore a tie, the staff would cut it off and hang it from the rafters.
  • Closure reasons: The restaurant was leasing its land and, when the land was sold, it was unable to find a new location.
  • Legacy: Many of its rustic treasures were sold at a public auction after the closure.

Well he asked about places in Tucson, so no I was not talking about the place not on Tucson.

Fleming’s is good. Expensive though. Sullivan’s is the same. Saguaro corners is another good one. Ventana canyon has the Sunday brunch that’s really good if you wanted to go that route.

Flemings of course was the first one she brought up.  Used to be a place called Janos that was kinda swanky.  That guy opened carriage house which we tried years ago.

The Tack Room ... oh wait, I may be off by a few decades.  ;)  :D

My grandparents favorite place back in the 70s!!   (As a kid, I didn't really appreciate it then, but I still have fond memories of them, there.....)

@CatfishKev, one more vote for Vivace (Campbell & Skyline)!

Wildflower (get the donuts for dessert), Hacienda Del Sol, Vivace's are all good and pretty close or on the NW side of town. Can't go wrong with Fleming's as well and haven't been in a while, but there is Bob's Steak & Chop house in the Omni Tucson National.
