The tinder fire

Recommended Posts

And so it begins.....

Brace yourselves, I think this will be a rough summer.

Wife & I bought a place up in Prescott last fall and have been working on cleaning it up. So far we've filled up over 60 of the 35 gallon black trashbags full of dry needles & leaves, and we've only got 1.25 acres. And we're only about half way done. Imagine thousands of acres with that much litter on it just waiting for a cigarette butt or a camp fire or fireworks.....

500 acres. Was just there last weekend on the junior turkey hunt, lots of dry fuel all over the place. Hope the fire doesn't blow up.

looks like someone didn't care about the fire restrictions. Mandatory prison time and asset forfeiture. That's the only way people are gonna learn. Our joke of a justice system is way to soft in all the wrong areas.

This fire started the day they started the restriction in the Coconino. Saw where Tonto forest gave out hundreds of warnings last weekend in their forest. Why warnings! That’s the stupidest thing I’ve heard!

It’s like when turkey season starts all the camping restrictions, road closures, camping by waterholes, and fire restrictions are just a recommendation, not really something you need to follow. Horrible up here this weekend.

IMHO----

Ignorance has no boundaries , the few who don't adhere to policy will ruin it all for the rest of us who enjoy our great public lands .

Everyone do a rain dance of sorts whatever it may be , the sky's need to open up and drop some much needed moisture on our parched public lands .

Be safe and alert out there .

Just got back from up north. As expected in the early morning hours, SR87 smoke was laying low and thick beginning just south of Starlight Pines. Couldn't see any smoke plume.

Heading back south this afternoon, not much smoke on SR87, however a moderate smoke plume could be seen to the east in East Clear Creek. Gusty winds also observed.

Pretty big ICP off 698 road.
