Top of Mt Ord is definitely on fire...looks like  back burning maybe...hard to tell

This is correct, someone posted the video from Saturday of a small car burnt with the brush fire going strong in the video, think it was on the Magnum fire thread. before the road was closed, South bound at bush highway

Curious, did you photograph Mt. Ord from your home on the NE side of the McDowells?  If so, tell us how you did it.

Are their any real biologists on here?  What are the long term effects on these lower elevation grass fires.  How long does it take to come back from a fire?

I think they are purposely burning the top of Ord to try and save the towers.

That's exactly what they did. We're supposed to beef up one of those towers here soon for some new equipment. looks like that job just went on hold

Yes sir back burning like crazy and using 188 for fire brake, THOMC were all biologist on here.

High ground seems to benefit from wildfire.  My experience with burnt desert is that it is less utilized by wildlife for a very long time. In the desert, invasive species seem to recover much quicker than native plants.

looks like Edwards Park and Bushnell Tanks are going to burn.

is a shame Edwards park is a beautiful place hard to get to but beautiful.
