One Caliber in Arizona

Recommended Posts

If only one to hunt, carry, shoot multiple rounds, practice on, recoil, BC, and a all around round to take deer to elk down no prob will be the 280AI. I don't have one but that round is right smack in the middle of all the hunting rounds

I was just thinking that all of you are right, and that all of these cartridges are tops. Great choices, every one for AZ.

Most people would be better off with one Deer/Elk rifle. Spend all practice time with it. Be good with it.

For AZ it would be the .270 Winchester. 130 gr. for deer, antelope. 150 gr. Nosler Partition for elk.

my thoughts exactly

Although I haven't tried them in my .270, I probably wouldn't hesitate using a Hornady 145gr ELD-X on an Elk, if I ever get drawn for one. On the ELD-X line, I wonder why Hornady doesn't offer them in a lighter bullet? Say a 120 in a 6.5, a 130 in .270, and maybe a 150 in .308?
