stanley Report post Posted July 5 Looks good, guys! I'm doing a pork butt today. Pup wants to get her nose in there anytime I go near the smoker to add more mesquite or to check the temp. LOL Happy 4th!

I've done a couple of smoked Thanksgiving turkeys over the years. I picked that Brinkmann up at a yard sale for $5 almost 30 years ago. GF tells me to get one of them fancy-shmancy Traegers, but this old thing works just fine.

stanley Report post Posted July 5 Yup, I'm 60 with a sense of humor that ranges from about 14 years old to 20ish. Get my old buddies and I together on a golf course or around a fire at hunting/fishing camp and it's high school & college all over again.

I'm on my second Brinkman (R2D2) in 30 years. Bottom pan and middle pan are rusted out. I smoked some King Salmon from Sprouts and some Pork Belly Burnt Ends yesterday. I can only eat one or two at a time they are so salty. I am looking at getting a Weber 18" Smokey Mountain Smoker. I have some points at ACE I can use since they are the same price everywhere. I like that they are sealed and have vents so I can get it going and not have to tend to it every 15 minutes.
trphyhntr Report post Posted July 5 Terrible news, my parents recently moved and they threw out the brinkman apparently. Update: I ate the whole pie in one sitting
