Big or Bust

What's for dinner tonight?

Recommended Posts

Aftermath, got all the leftovers in the oven baking out the moisture. About to start some nice garden beds with these as layer number 2.

Looks good, guys!

I'm doing a pork butt today.  Pup wants to get her nose in there anytime I go near the smoker to add more mesquite or to check the temp.  LOL

Happy 4th!

That’s the same smoker I grew up watching my dad cook thanksgiving turkey on

Ya, I'm I'm probably about as old as your dad, I'm guessing.....   I've done a couple of smoked Thanksgiving turkeys over the years.

I picked that Brinkmann up at a yard sale for $5 almost 30 years ago.  GF tells me to get one of them fancy-shmancy Traegers, but this old thing works just fine.

Yup, I'm 60 with a sense of humor that ranges from about 14 years old to 20ish.  Get my old buddies and I together on a golf course or around a fire at hunting/fishing camp and it's high school & college all over again.  ;)

We did fresh fish we caught off the Channel Islands off Ventura on Wed.  Battered and fried for tacos. Calico bass and white fish.

No pics, too fried from being pool side i. 80 degree temps with cold ones!

Hope all had a great 4th.

I'm on my second Brinkman (R2D2) in 30 years. Bottom pan and middle pan are rusted out. I smoked some King Salmon from Sprouts and some Pork Belly Burnt Ends yesterday. I can only eat one or two at a time they are so salty. I am looking at getting a Weber 18" Smokey Mountain Smoker. I have some points at ACE I can use since they are the same price everywhere. I like that they are sealed and have vents so I can get it going and not have to tend to it every 15 minutes.

Terrible news, my parents recently moved and they threw out the brinkman apparently.

Update: I ate the whole pie in one sitting
