Nice. I would have let him finish up then finished him off.

I shot a whitetail buck off a doe in NY one year, we were doing a small 2man drive, stopped along a road and stepped over a guardrail, the buck was mounted on a doe, the doe saw us, ran a short distance in open woods and stopped to look at us.

The buck had one thing on his mind and re-mounted the doe.

I asked my father "Should I shoot this Buck???".. he answered " Yes"....

. 257roberts through the shoulders...

Deer are "quick" like that, he passed his genes on and really... what better to die???

I had this same scenario happen to me on a Kaibab deer hunt at 60 yards. I let him finish, then dropped the hammer. I still talk about it to this day!
