That tag is usually a good indication of a bear with some bad behavior in it's history. But maybe in this case it looks like someone shot it up with HGH. Looks like you got a good one. Congrats on a beast!

Must of been eating some antlers with velvet still on them. :)

Congratulations to your buddy and BIG KUDOS to you. That's an awesome bear! The last bear I called in my buddy almost killed me by hugging me to death. Thanks for sharing. :)

The orange piece was a tag with a number that said Do Not Consume will post some measurements And a story in a few days.

The bear I shot last year was tagged with the same tag, the warden I spoke to said it was fine to consume since it was a year later they just dont want you eating it right after it was tranquilized
