Jase got his first bird this morning. It was about as good as it gets. We had 4 Tom's come put on a show at 60yds. This one broke strut and the tss 7.5s put him down.
Absolutely! Being 3 states away and having limited time away from work I feel like I would be dumb not to especially with the results from last time. If we had explored more of the unit last time I would consider it but we only focused on 2 canyons looking for this bull so I don't know much about the unit and it is so big.
Lunch today was ahi tuna sashimi and pan seared ahi tuna with sesame oil, cilantro and sesame seeds on top of mixed bed of micro greens, complemented with rice and edamame.
I finally made it over there in the middle of the week, during mid-day. Hardly anyone was there. That traffic circle going in really needs to be rethought. Nice facility with lots of stuff. I bought a boonie hat with Cabelas Points. I was disappointed to find out that there is not a restaurant -- I don't get out much. The restaurants died during COVID. They still have the treats/snacks counter with all the fudge AND YES I RESISTED. I am more into the phase of life into downsizing rather than accumulating but it was fun to see the fish tank and all the schtuff. A/C was on HIGH and it actually felt good to go out into the heat. I was reminded of my first experience with BassPro circa 1990 in Grapevine, Tx. There was a tornado warning and the A/C was stuck on high -- the associates were all wearing the heavy winter coats off the racks. We all spent hours there just looking at all the stuff. This week, there were no lines anywhere and it a delight.
If you can’t hunt your done simple as that go fish …. I’m almost done with that and fine with it. Does suck getting old buying a new camper though man they have a come along way in 12 years. Turkey hunting with the grandkid coming up. Yahoo!!!
they're rescinding all CURRENT ones so that you have to reapply, and actually meet the criteria of a disabled archer to be able to use a crossbow. It's free to get one, it only takes a doctors certification (which if you are truly disabled shouldn't be too hard to get) then you're good.
EDIT: It's not free, its $13 per year. If you're going to bitch about $13/year then you probably can't afford to hunt anyways... especially not with a crossbow. Have you seen how expensive bolts are?
